Check this out. My name is Jesus Christ……actually it is not, and we know it is not. And Mumia Abdul-Jamal’s name isn’t Mumia Abdul-Jamal…..it is Wesley Cook. But that doesn’t matter as he is in prison for his 1981 murder of a Philadelphia police officer. There were at least three witnesses to the murder, all evidence pointed to the Muslim convert (I know I am not supposed to mention THAT as being relevant) and Black Panther (or that). The courts, including the Supreme Court, has heard his case at least three times and upheld the original ruling, or declined to grant a new trial. The man is guilty of murdering a cop in broad day light in cold blood. You can imagine the outrage of the white community as they marched in the streets and burned the City of Brotherly Love to the ground. You don’t remember that part because IT DID NOT HAPPEN. Now, for some reason completely inexplicable to me, this nut job has been transformed into a hero by the left and by black Americans. And now he has been selected by the student body to give a commencement address at Goddard College in Vermont. This will be Cook’s third commencement address. I wonder what in the hell a convicted cop killer, black activist Muslim could tell a bunch of graduating college kids, because I am pretty damned sure it isn’t “clean your plate and obey the law.” Maureen Faulkner, the widow of the slain police officer, understandably sees this selection of Cook as a speaker to be an affront to decency and made a very true statement when she said “People need to start realizing that there is a right and wrong in this world. It seems like no one wants to think about that”. And she is right. Because we have lost our compass on right and wrong in this nation. And I went through a phase in my life where I turned my back on the difference but that is behind me; it is part of my past, not my DNA, not my genetic make up, not my culture. But the same can’t be said for most of America. We have forgotten absolutes. What Cook did was wrong on a grand scale, and he has been celebrated for it and I will bet you money that Obama pardons him on the way out of the door (because as you know, if Obama had a son, he would look like Cook). There is a cancer in this nation, and it is not the fantasy cancer of Al Gores’ global warming (I always loved that speech and wondered if ANYBODY took that idiot seriously); it is the celebration of wrong, of “radical” thinking, of eschewing tried, proven practices for some other approach just because you can. The progressive government pushes this cancer, makes it viable through our education system……and let me put this in a little perspective…. …..If I WAS Jesus Christ…..I am certain I would not be selected to speak at a Goddard College graduation. There is a right and wrong…..and what this college is doing is wrong.
