Checked my Centennial Park Preservation & Enhancement Society - TopicsExpress

Checked my Centennial Park Preservation & Enhancement Society minutes and notes for some background history. Did you know that the existing playground equipment and picnic tables were fully funded by over $67,00 in donations from concerned citizens in our community? (The Rotary and Vancouver Foundation also made major contributions to the larger project which included renovation of the outdoor pool.) At the time of purchase, this playground equipment was expected to last 20 to 30 years providing adequate maintenance was carried out by the city. Also, the adjoining block of undeveloped property between Centennial Park and the Museum is also dedicated parkland. (It was dedicated at the same time as Centennial Park, the museum land, and Sequoia Park.) This property has the potential to be the perfect setting for a nature playscape. With minimal development it could link the whole corridor of parkland and be less inviting to the kind of less desirable activity that happens there.
