Checking out the 12z/18zGFS this evening, we`ll continue to see - TopicsExpress

Checking out the 12z/18zGFS this evening, we`ll continue to see some showers around this evening, and then another weak impulse will move through later tonight and into tomorrow for more rain and showers at times and also continued southerly flow aloft with highs in the 60`s to around 70 per 12zWRF. Yet another weak impulse moves through on Tue with rain and showers at times and highs in the 60`s to lower 70`s. Looks like the Wed/Thurs period appears to see just some showers at times, and now it appears that Fri might not be a dry day as a frontal system more or less stalls over Western Wa and Fri looks like it may be rather wet from what is being shown. Now if GFS models are to be correct, it looks like ridging could build very strongly over the south western US for next weekend and eventually amplify with 500mb heights reaching into the mid 590`sdm early-mid following week and 850mb temps warming to around +18c over Wa state. So if this were to pan out, we would be seeing WARM sunny days and mild over night lows. On the other hand, it looks like the 12zGEM is dry starting next Fri after a wet Mon-Thurs period and ridging Fri with 500mb heights in the 570`s through Tue/Wed following week. So there may some nicer weather by late next week or weekend. And in looking at the EURO, it suggest SWLY flow and 500mb heights in the mid 560s for later next week, so probably at least a chance of showers for that time frame and then warming up briefly for Mon/Tue following week with 500mb heights in the 580`s, only to cool back down again with a small trough show to pass through for Wed.
