You may not be aware, but I have three lovely daughters but no sons.Truth is, I never really wanted sons as I believe daughters are more loyal to their parent family. On the other hand, boys, when they marry and have a family of their own, tend to be drawn more to their wives family than their own. That may be a moot point , but I can only go on the experience I have seen with my own family and the families of my friends and neighbors. I was rescued when I was 10 years of age from a very violent father by my maternal grandmother. I then lived with her and my equally lovely grandfather until I joined the Merchant Navy as an Apprentice Navigating Officer after leaving Hull Trinity House School. I believe the only reason I passed the very academic entrance examination for Trinity House was because of my grandparents giving me a safe and secure home. Sadly my lovely grandmother passed away in 1965 and I still think of her and miss her every day.
