Chelsea are anxiously awaiting results of medical tests to determine how long main striker Diego Costa will remain on the sidelines, the Guardian reports. Costa picked up a hamstring injury in training earlier this week and it is being reported that the Spanish international could miss up to six weeks of football, which would be a blow given his outstanding start to the season. The 25-year-old has bagged two goals in his first two Premier League games for the Blues and has contributed to them maintaining a 100% record in the league so far. Costa was signed for £32m from Atlético Madrid this summer, but he is set to undergo further tests at Cobham today. It was initially expected that Costa would miss Chelseas trip to Everton on Saturday night, but there is hope within the Chelsea camp that the injury is not as bad as first feared. Chelsea still retain hope that he could be fit for the weekend. The extent of his injury may dictate what business Jose Mourinho does in the final days of the transfer window. Fernando Torres is thought to be close to joining Milan, but if Costa stays on the sidelines the Blues could halt the move. Chelsea are also thought to be close to signing Roma striker Mattia Destro.
