Chelsea bidding to bolster squad by signing four internationals By Western Morning News | Posted: December 29, 2014 By ANDY PHILLIPS CHELSEA TRANSFER LATEST: Jose Mourinho is ready to add four internationals to his squad to bolster them for the tests ahead in 2015 Comments (0) Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is ready to bolster his squad for a hectic 2015 with up to four international-quality signings. With the Blues still fighting for silverware in four fronts, and several squad players keen for a move out of Stamford Bridge, Mourinho is ready to add the quartet, several of which are also wanted by his Premier League rivals. The biggest name being linked with Chelsea is Barcelona star Sergio Busquets, who has won both the World Cup and European Championships with Spain. Busquets is ready to bolster the Blues midfield, as he is said to have lost faith in Luis Enrique’s vision at the Nou Camp. The defensive midfielder would add another high- quality option in the centre of the park for Chelsea, alongside Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas. With John Obi Mikel expected to leave Stamford Bridge in January, Busquets would add vital competition for places in the squad. Although Mourinho has creativity in abundance via not just Fabregas but Oscar, Willian and Eden Hazard, he would welcome the ball winning and tackling qualities of Busquets. Both Manchester United and Arsenal are also in the race to land the 26-year-old, while Barcelona are still aiming to tie up a new contract with Busquets. But according to the Express, Chelsea are leading the race to sign him, which Metro have also reported. It could be that the success of international team-mates Fabregas and Diego Costa means Busquets may opt for Stamford Bridge over their rivals. Meanwhile, with Chelsea still involved in four competitions this season, Mourinho is looking to swell their ranks with several signings which have the potential to pay off in the future. Also according to the Express, Chelsea are lining up a £6m bid for teenaged star Dani Ceballos. A tricky winger, Ceballos has impressed at Real Betis after breaking into the first team, and has been watched by plenty of scouts including those from Chelsea. A former Sevilla player, he is in line for a new deal at Betis, and Chelsea are hoping to sign him before he pens a new agreement. The Express also said that Mourinho is intent on turning his capture into a £14m double swoop by signing Croatian international Andrej Kramaric. Having scored 27 goals in 26 games in all competitions for his club side, Rijeka, Kramaric has already rejected a move to Leicester City, but would be tempted by a move to the current Premier League leaders, and an £8m bid has been mentioned. Finally, Chelsea are set to pay £24m to sign midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah from Juventus, according to Metro. The Ghanaian is not in the current first-team picture at Juve, but has made more than 60 appearances for the Serie A champions, and can play in a plethora of positions in both midfield and defence. He left Accra to play for Swiss club Bellinzona in 2008, and had a spell at Torino before earning a move to Udinese. He made 114 appearances for Udinese over five seasons before leaving for Juventus in 2012, where his power and ability has made him a valuable utility player. He would also be an ideal replacement for Nigerian midfielder Mikel.
