Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has hailed three specific defenders as the toughest he’s faced throughout his glittering career. The forward, now in Turkey with Galatasaray, was at Chelsea for eight years and won the Premier League three times as well as finishing his career with the Blues lifting the Champions League. In an interview with GQ magazine, Drogba was asked which defender was the toughest he’s faced in his entire career, but he couldn’t decide between three of his Premier League rivals. “It’s a big question,” said Drogba. “I like to judge players when I’ve played them many times. If I play against a player one time, it can be good or a bad day, so it’s difficult to judge. “The defenders who put up a good fight and gave me a good game were Jamie Carragher, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. They were good defenders, but also played a fair game. I always had to think the week before a match of how to score, I had to put a lot of thought into it.” Drogba spent eight years at Chelsea, scoring 100 goals in the Premier League. To pick three central defenders that he faced in his time in England comes as no surprise really considering the battles he used to have on the pitch, especially with Carragher, who he faced in some huge games in Europe and domestically.
