Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has wasted no time in making his mark in the transfer window and as per latest reports from Italian media company ‘Mediaset’, a deal has been agreed with Napoli for striker Edinson Cavani. The Blues were desperate to land a top striker in the summer and targeted Cavani after they failed to land their prime target Radamel Falcao, who joined Monaco. According to the report, both the parties have come to a negotiation for a fee in the region of €58 million. La Liga giants Real Madrid are also interested in the forward but as it stands Chelsea are front runners forhis signature. It is understood that Chelsea will be looking to recoup some of their transfer fee by selling Fernando Torres, who have had a torrid time during his spell at the London club. The Uruguayan goal machine has scored over 30 goals in his three seasons at Napoli and has expressed his desire to test himself at one of the top leagues in the world. According to reports from English newspaper Telegraph, Napoli managed by Rafael Benitez (who doesn’t have best of relations with Mourinho) are expecting Cavani’s £53m buy-out clause to be met.
