Chelsea writes: My daughter, age 8, reads all the time. When she was in public school, 7 and in second grade she tested at 6th Grade reading a comprehension. She cannot spell. She has problems with left and right. But my biggest question right now is: While I was dictating words to her today, (easy words from past All About Spelling Level 1 Lessons) for her to write on the whiteboard, she sometimes would spell the words correctly, but write different letters! Usually vowels were written as other vowels and such. WHAT is THAT! How can she say one letter and write another! She was evaluated by the OT last year because she was slow to finish her work. She was found to have gifted spatial reasoning and handwriting that was 2 years advanced. But she still has reversals. I am homeschooling and happy to see that she is becoming more willing to write, but how can I fix this spelling issue?
