Cherie Kennedy’s love of glass started back in high school where she learned several different techniques such as copper foil, leaded glass, sandblasting, and mirror etching. She has enjoyed this hobby for many years now, and loves making unique gifts for friends and family. Cherie also works on custom projects for customers such as leaded glass panels for kitchen cabinets and restoration projects. Last year her passion for jewelry and glass came together, when TMCC offered a class through their Community Education Program. Cherie jumped at the chance to take the class, and fell in love with glass fusion. Since then she has acquired three kilns and just about kicked her husband out of the garage, needing more studio space. Her techniques consist of mixing different layers of glass to create one-of-a kind pieces. Cherie continues to develop her artistic skills in glass fusion, in hopes of becoming a master glass blower.Be sure to stop by and check out her work Aug 16, at The Biggest Little Street Faire from 2pm-6pm at West Street Market.
