Cherish Chooseday! When I was in Cape Town last week wooden accessories were everywhere. I am so excited to have managed to secure two suppliers of beautiful, eco-friendly wooden items. We-wood watches were designed in Italy and are made mostly from scrap wood. The companys aim is to restore Mother Nature one watch at a time by planting a tree for every We-wood watch bought. To date they have planted 300 000 trees. Hout Couture (as you can tell by the name) is a South African brand. Their wooden sunglasses are handmade in Cape Town. They also take the environment seriously. Through a partnership with the Eco-schools project, they plant an indigenous or fruit tree at a school for each pair of sunglasses purchased. The bonus is that they are funky and beautifully designed. I have ordered ten pairs of sunglasses and eight watches, each in a variety of styles and finishes.
