When my grandmother was a little girl her community, which was somewhere in Newfoundland, had to put black sheets up to their windows so that no lights would shine through or else theyd get bombed. they had two German spy soldiers staying at their home. My Great Grandfather, Kenneth Mugford, A decorated hero, 15 years old when he joined the war, Prisoner Of War in Germany. Wounded in the stomach, blown eardrum from a grenade blast and he survived, escaping Germany by breathing through a straw under water then swimming the English Channel!!!
