Chester DT Baldwin - I Still Hear Mama Praying / Sing It On Sunday Morning - JDI Records Sitting up here with so much on my mind and still trying to process the fact that in a couple of days, we will be laying to rest the Rock of our family, Mrs. Ira Jane McCoy. Although I know that this is real it still is indeed a hard pill for me to swallow because Grandma was truly one of a kind. I will miss her homemade pound cakes, famous yeast rolls, that sho nuff breakfast with the good ole poached eggs, toast, and rine bacon. Mannn and that BananaPudding from scratch with that meringue on it that she baked in the oven. Not to mention all of the things she taught me like how to fish, snap and shell peas, but most importantly how to pray. I can recall all those nights that I use to stay at her house and before she would get in the bed she would always bow and kneel down and I would lie there astounded just listening at how she prayed and talked to God. I remember that like yesterday and I for sure picked up on her habits because everyday its a must that I watch Matlock and In The Heat Of The Night. Then my heart is so heavy for my father and his siblings. 60 plus years is a long time to have a living mother. So I ask that you just continue to keep our family lifted as we try and get through this. We thank God for her life and the things that she left with each one of us. Love you always and you will forever be in each of our hearts!!!
