Chic - At Last I Am Free (1978) Its about 3:09 am Im up and thinking about Maestro bassist songwriter and producer Bernard Edwards. Mixed feelings of sadness that he is no longer with us and Happiness of having had the pleasure of meeting him once in New York at a conference/workshop and it was a blessing. I decided to listen to this track and it symbolized to me the genuine and real relationship that Nile and Bernard shared. Coming up together at an early age becoming successful which I knew was their dream. God truly blessed them. Bernard was a gentleman and this comes through in his sound and his original style of playing. I know Nile misses him but this music and performance lives on. To me this track is so so R&B, so New York Apollo theatre , so Philadelphia Uptown Theatre so classy. Please ,please enjoy
