Chicago Bulls B 2014-15 Record (as of Jan. 18) W-L 27-15 PCT .643 DIV 4-2 CONF 18-9 HOME 12-10 ROAD 15-5 Team Pic Frontcourt B Pau Gasol found the Fountain of Youth fed by Lake Michigan. But Joakim Noah hasnt been quite healthy and Mike Dunleavys jammed ankle cost the Bulls his versatility. Backcourt B+ Derrick Rose played in 24 of 27 games before the seasons midpoint, but hes still working toward his nasty ol self. Jimmy Butler was a Most Improved fave, adjusting now to being featured in game plans. Defense C Graded on the curve of Tom Thibodeau standards, some of the slippage here owes to the Bulls enhanced offense, but frontcourt discontinuity is showing -- and Rose needs to pick it up. Bench A- When the starters are healthy, the Bulls bench is excellent, led by Taj Gibson, Kirk Hinrich and overachievers Nikola Mirotic, Aaron Brooks and even ETwaun Moore. Coaching B Tom Thibodeau generally has been mellower, enjoying the new arrows in his offensive quiver and only lately is he boiling over about the defensive lapses and squandered home games. Summary We cant say the Bulls have been healthy, per se, but their greater depth this season has helped them endure players absences. Plus, Rose mostly has been available, changing the tired script of 2012-13 and 2013-14. They clearly have enjoyed putting points on the board (nearly nine more per game) and Gasol has been an upgrade at both ends over Carlos Boozer. Jimmy Butler played most of the seasons first half like the sidekick for Rose Chicago never could find, before dipping in January. Rebounding was an early concern, replaced recently by overall defense and an unacceptably ordinary record in home games. But it gives Thibodeau and his crew things to chew on, rather than peaking again in the regular season. -- Steve Aschburner 2014-15 Team Rating Offense Defense 105.8 102.4 7th Overall 12th Overall
