Chicago Month of Code Challenge Anyone between the ages of four and 24 can learn to code for free anytime and anywhere through Chicago City of Learning’s Month of Code Challenge from now until Aug. 8. Month of Code participants learn to design and develop video games, interactive stories, mobile apps and more while they earn digital badges and win prizes, including movie tickets, video games, gift cards, a Chromebook or an iPad Air. Young Chicagoans can explore the Month of Code alone at home or visit CCOL Youth Hubs located in four different areas of the city. There, they can gain access to computers, work with others who are taking part in Month of Code, or receive assistance from a mentor. It all starts at month of code website, where an activity map will lead the way from playing games to obtaining computer science skills that could result in a passion for the profession. Along with Month of Code, CCOL’s Weekly On-line Challenges provide fun, learning and earning – of digital prizes and additional prizes - wherever there is internet access. Each week the challenge focuses on a different topic. Through July 27th participants will Battle Pollution.
