Chicago racing and the family of horseman there lost another personality today who made a great impact on racing there for a long time. Respected and well-liked horseman Tim Stormy Storm passed away today from complications of a long illness that he battled for years. He was tough, like the horses he sent out on the track to race were!! Stormy started racing his public stable on his own in the early 80s after starting out as a groom in the Daryl Busse stable. Stormy and I were competitors on the track in many many races and even claimed horses off each other. We were also friends off the track. I can remember going to many Cub games with him when he trained for Dan Plesac (former Cub Pitcher) and playing cards with him many a times on rain days and before we went to battle on the track. He was a good man who made a mark on Chi. racing for years and will be well remembered. R.I.P. my friend!!! Thanks for the memories!!
