Chicken Health: BUMBLEFOOT We experienced this in one of our Rhode Island Reds within the first year of raising chickens. As it turned out, we believe she may have gotten a cut/splinter from an edge of a roosting bar that then became infected. In any case, we did some surgery on the kitchen counter and removed the puss pocket in her foot. She recovered 100%.
