Chickensheds celebrates its 40th Year with The Night Before Christmas 2014 is the Chickensheds 40th Anniversary and to celebrate this occasion the Company has revived its most popular Christmas show to date! The Night Before Christmas is fondly remembered as one of Chickenshed’s best shows ever! Chickenshed’s professional actors and diverse cast will bring this Christmas alive in a completely fresh and festive way, so be prepared to be mesmerised by the wonderful story, beautiful music and songs, amazing dance and a feast of memorable ch aracters who have been specially created for this unique Chickenshed show. It’s Christmas Eve and, too excited to sleep, the children are desperate to tear into their huge sack of presents. However the gifts they find are clearly not for them – instead they are meant for Cinderella’s Ugly Sisters, Mr Ebenezer Scrooge and The Snow Queen. So the children realise they must journey to magical faraway lands to return these presents, learning the true meaning of Christmas as they go – and all before Midnight! The cast of this years show includes two of the original Sleigh Kids from the 1992 production which was performed at The Place Theare in London before, Diana, Princess of Wales, Chickensheds Patron, and the young Princes Willian and Harry. Robin Shillinglaw who played the eldest Sleigh Kid Robin will this year play a Reindeer (featured in the image) and Emma Cambridge who was Emma, will be the Matchstick Seller. This year the cast of 800 will be split into four different rota groups with the core company actors performing in every show. The cast will be integrating sign language into their performance ensuring that our hearing impaired audiences can watch the entire show rather than concentrating on a signer placed at side of the stage. We also offer captioned and audio described performances together with touch tours so all our audiences can enjoy the show.
