Chickpeas, my favorite little snack! These tiny little loves, also known as garbanzo beans are a fabulous source of protein and ridiculously rich in fiber and vitamin E! More health benefits of the chickpea: -Insoluble fiber content binds to cholesterol and removes it from our body -Prevents constipation -Prevents and relieves digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and diverticulosis -Soluble fiber helps control and lower blood cholesterol and prevents strokes and heart disease -High levels of folate lowers blood homocysteine, which reduces risk factor for cardiovascular disease -Rich in Magnesium which helps arteries relax and protects against heart attack -High in potassium which helps protect against fluid retention and balances body fluids -Fantastic source of iron, zinc and calcium ROASTED CHICKPEA SNACK: 1 Can Chickpeas, rinsed and drained 1 tsp. Olive Oil 1/2 tsp. Sea Salt 1/4 tsp. Black Pepper 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder Dash Cayenne Pepper Preheat oven to 350. In small bowl, mix all ingredients and toss well. Place on baking sheet. Bake in oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until just beginning to brown. Remove and cool. Place in airtight container and munch on them whenever you like! DELISH!!
