Chidlow fascinates me , being such a large stop for a small village today almost no sign remains. A welded wire locomotive and some bits and pieces in the local pub. The Hotel owner said he is planning on a mock station in the beer garden and going by the original station, that would be lovely. It would mimic what I have seen is the same style as Subiaco and Clackline. The line was abandoned when the Avon Valley line opened in the mid 60s and Perth lost what was a weekend destination for many including John Forrest National Park. Lake Leschenaultia is the largest reminder of the railways existence constructed to fill the boilers of passing locomotives and now a fabulous playground for picnics and kayaks.
