Chief Barnabas Gemade picked his expression of interest and nomination forms yesterday at the national secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abuja, vowing to beat Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam in the primaries. Senator Gemade, a former PDP national chairman told newsmen that he is not scared of Suswam coming into the race as he would defeat him with landslide to retain his seat. He said that he would make the race uncomfortable for Suswam if he insists on contesting the Benue northeast senatorial seat, adding that it explains why he is one of the first to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2015 race. “Nigerians should watch and see how interesting this is going to be. I think political contest is a democratic one and the winner will always remain who receives the greatest support from the public. “I am sure that I am going to do that. Elections are not won by what people imagine. It is not those kinds of factors the people think. So many people have come to me and said ‘waoh, can you stand the governor?’ Of course, yes, I have stood many before. I will stand this one too,” he said. Similarly, Nkiru Daniella Ukpabi from Abia State yesterday alsopicked her forms to run for the House of Representatives.
