Chief Engineer, PWD, Daman & Diu: From now onwards, I will write excerpts from information provided by Administration of Daman & Diu to the Home Ministry, Govt. of India. Shri R. N. Singh was engaged on transfer on deputation basis and was appointed as Chief Engineer in OIDC which is a Public Sector Undertaking under the U. T. Administration of Daman & Diu. The UT Administration of Daman & Diu has only one sanctioned post of Superintending Engineer ( Civil) after delinking from Goa. Also there was no regular Superintending Engineer or Executive Engineer in Public Works Department either in Daman & Diu or in the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The PWD was running without any regular Officers of these cadres i.e., Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer. Shri R. N. Singh, Chief Engineer, OIDC was also delegated powers to accord Technical sanction for detailed estimates for all Civil and Electrical Works/Projects of PWD Department of UT Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli vide order No. D/SE.DNH/2007/31/52 dated 01.05.2007 (Annexure-I), subject to observance of all conditions as laid down in the CPWD Manual Vol. II and instructions issued by Government of India from time to time.
