Chief Executive Officer | Lusaka Stock Exchange The Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE) started its operations in 1994. In the past twenty years the LuSE has grown to a domestic market capitalization of ZMW 53.1 billion (approximately US$ 9.8 billion) and has 21 listed companies and 6 broker firms. Its business operations include facilitating capital raising by corporates and government, initial public offers for sale, secondary market trading of securities (equities and bonds), information dissemination and the promotion and development of the Zambian capital market in general. The LuSE seeks to recruit a Chief Executive Officer who will be reporting to the Board. The appropriate candidate will be responsible for the implementation and execution of strategy, day to day management of the Exchange operations and supervision of the broker members and the listed companies as provided in the rules. The candidate’s duties will include: supervising the operations of the LuSE to maintain an orderly market that is fair, efficient, liquid and transparent for the benefit of all its stakeholders; formulating and managing implementation of strategic and operational plans; developing tangible strategies to stimulate the primary and secondary market in equities and bonds to deepen the Zambian capital market; strategic planning and management for the LuSE; financial management of LuSE as a business; enforcement and continuous monitoring of compliance with the Listing Rules, Trading Rules and Membership Rules of the Exchange; reviewing of systems, operations and procedures and implementation of appropriate project development; interactions with Government Officials and Captains of industry and commerce; human capital performance; service delivery to key stakeholders; marketing and promotion of the Zambian capital market to increase domestic and foreign participation, in addition to maintaining and developing strong local, regional and global presence with stakeholders. To be considered for this position you must be a firebrand with very good knowledge and understanding of capital markets and the Zambian economy and its drivers, and hold a University Degree (post graduate degree will be an added advantage). You must also have a minimum of 5 years experience at senior management level with a proven track record of delivery and result oriented performance. Additionally, to be fit for this position you must be a vibrant and dynamic individual with the capacity to strategically engage and draw stakeholders while exhibiting high integrity, strong analytical and communication skills.
