Chief JVB addressing this mornings press conference downtown regarding DWI awareness for the holiday season. There was then a Police car motorcade around the City streets to raise awareness to the DWI concerns. The pictured Sheriff Van is a mobile processing Unit Gates will often use to test a defendants breath. The Van responds to the traffic stop and saves time. Pictured with JVB is Ray Benitez, Chief of the DWI Bureau of the Monroe County District Attorneys Office. Ray was a former RPD Officer before joining the District Attorneys Office as a Prosecutor! The last picture is JVB with Peggy Duffy - the Monroe County STOP DWI Coordinator. Peggy lost 2 relatives to drunk drivers and formerly lived in Gates! DWI is a preventable tragedy waiting to happen. The most DWI Arrests will be made from Thanksgiving til New Years Day. Dont end up in the back of the Sheriffs Mobile Processing Van - have a plan to get home this Holiday Season!
