Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has appointed High Court Judges Weldon Korir, Mumbi Ngugi and Richard Mwongo to the three judge bench that will hear Kethi Kilonzo’s petition against the IEBC. The three High Court Judges will hold their first sitting on Monday morning. The three take over from Justice Isaac Lenaola who pulled out of the case, saying he was uncomfortable hearing the case filed by lawyer Kethi Kilonzo who wants to be reinstated to vie for the Makueni seat. Kethi and the Wiper Democratic Movement want the High Court to reverse the decision by the IEBC tribunal that locked her out of the July 26th by-election.
