Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has urged the people to strive together to include Manipur on the tourist map of the world. Inaugurating the Manipur Sangai Festival 2014 yesterday, he said the state need to maintain peace and hospitality to attract tourists. He said foreign tourists coming to take part in the festival should be provided with the impression that Manipur is a peaceful and beautiful land. The chief minister said state govt is trying its best to develop minimum tourism infrastructure within a short period of time. He also expressed the optimism that with the arrival of Look East Policy, India will definitely be able to foster better ties with Myanmar and other countries of South East Asia, Manipur being the gateway. Chief minister of Chin state of Myanmar said trade and friendly relations with Myanmar and India is improving day by day.
