Chief of General Accounting Location: Egypt Job Description: Functional Description: •Involved in the company‘s financial activities in the areas of accounting, auditing, budgeting, planning and reporting, Administer and interprets accounting policy and procedures to accurately reflect the condition of the business. Provides information to control operations and comply with governmental regulations. Job Duties: •Under the general direction of the Head of Finance, the Manager General Accounts is responsible for all areas relating to Accounting Functions and Financial Reporting. Developing and maintaining Accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely Financial Statements. Supervise the Accounting staff and responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. Address tight deadlines and a multitude of Accounting activities including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Financial Reporting, Interim and yearend audit and the support of budget and forecast activities. •The Manager General Accounts has direct contact with Top Management and Company Directors which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Manager General Account’s job description may include: •Recommend, design and implement any required departmental controls. •Monitor and analyze Department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. •Respond to inquiries from the Finance, HR and Administration Department, the Head of Finance and Company Senior Management Committee regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. •Work with the Company Head of Finance to ensure a clean and timely yearend audit. •Assist in development and implementation of new Procedures and Policies to enhance the workflow of the Finance Department. •Provide orientation sessions to newcomers. •Perform the Performance Appraisal for the Finance Department team. •Responsible for direct contact with internal & external auditors, company lawyer, banks representatives and tax advisor during the year. •Attend auditors’ financial interim and year end closing audit meetings to discuss the proposed and required financial statements adjustments. •Attend the tax inspection meetings gathering the Tax Authority Inspector and the company Tax Advisor. •Negotiate with banks regarding opening new accounts including documents preparation and negotiate proposed interest rates for time deposits and loans. •Initiate modifications/enhancement to new computerized accounting system including working as a project manager in implementation. •Direct finance staff towards achieving predetermined managerial goals. •Direct contact with Top Management regarding new customer banks prices, new schemes for S&M commissions and local and foreign banks requirements. •Ensure timely Reporting and review the Financial Reporting Packages and Presentation. •Review company payroll, get necessary approvals, send it to the bank, make sure that it’s already deposited in staff accounts and file the payroll documents in a safe place for confidentiality reasons. •Review Chairman, CEO, COO and staff travel expenses. •Review the General Ledger Module Journal Entries on the ERP Financial System and perform posting request successfully. •Review Statement of Financial Position Analysis and Statement of Earnings and direct proper adjustments. •Review the monthly bank reconciliation using the Cash Management Module on the ERP Financial System prepared by the Accounting Supervisor and handles discrepancies and problems. •Review the Accounts Receivable Module Entries (invoices, debit notes, credit notes and receipts) on the ERP Financial System, perform final post and transfer order in the General Ledger Module on the ERP Financial System successfully. •Oversee the customer collection process and report for customer violating company credit term policy using the Aging Analysis report prepared by the Senior Accountant. •Review the Accounts Payable Module Entries (invoices, debit notes, credit notes and payments) on the ERP Financial System and perform final post to the General Ledger Module successfully. •Review Suppliers Aging Report prepared by the A/P Accountant. •Review the Fixed Assets Module Entries (addition, deletion, disposal and movements), check monthly calculation of the depreciation expenses and review Fixed Assets Fiscal Count Report. •Ensure accurately and timely monthly and quarterly balances compliance between group companies. •Prepare yearly Financial Statements in KPMG style to facilitate auditors’ job during the Financial Year End Closing Audit. •Manage the Accounting staff to check accuracy and compliance with the GAAP, local tax principles and company rules & policies. Desired Profile: •University degree in Finance and Accountancy •8-10 years experience as Chief Accountant •Sound oral and written communication skills including good presentation skills •Advanced analytical skills and demonstrate an eye for detail •Initiative and Enthusiasm •Innovative and Ideas Driven
