Chief’s Babble……Facebook update Well…what a week. The Associated Press article kind of ignited a fire within the Facebook “likes” engine. The subsequent articles by the L.A. Times and the various appearances on TV and radio pushed it a long some. Now we are starting to slow down, so I figured this was a good time to catch up on some stats, via FB…. In the last seven days we have added 14,700 new likes. That is a pretty good pace. Additionally, in the last seven days, over 1.2 million people have read something on our page. Land sakes, that’s a lot of people. It’s a good thing I am an internet sensation and refuse to suffer from performance anxiety…. There is nothing worse than getting overly stressed and then getting the vapors. In addition to the numbers, which are impressive, even for legends like us….we have received lots of emails and calls from other departments inquiring about our page, our school programs, ice cream tickets and other methods we use to engage our community. We even sent info about the ice cream citations to a department in Canada! We are pleased about the inquiries and the possible changes coming along for those communities. If you are one of the zillions of emails or messages from the last week….be patient with us. We got a little…busy….(overwhelmed?) with the calls and emails. I will attempt to send replies as soon as possible. As always…thanks for being here and supporting our department…..we are honored…Chief Oliver
