Child this is what got Lani Guinier labeled a Quota Queen by Republicans back in the 90s (read her book The Tyranny of the Majority: Fundamental Fairness in Representative Democracy) because she called for proportional voting (STV). She proposed a more fair and representative system as the one illustrated in this video. She, like myself, thinks the winner take all system we have now is unfair and inherently NON-representative. She had been nominated to head up the DOJ civil rights division and was a long time friend of Bill Clinton. Of course Clinton (along with many prominent Dems) being the wussies that they were/ are sold her down the river and threw her under a bus (Oh yes honey I mixed my metaphors) the moment the GOP propaganda machine turned against her; George Will did a particularly nasty hatchet job on her writing and career by mischaracterizing her work as racially polarizing. This event, along with many other Democratic Party shenanigans caused me to leave the party 2 years later and Ive been independent ever since.
