ChildNet Youth and Family Services Inc. is seeking a Medication Support Staff for the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Program- Billing/Operations Department. DEPARTMENT Behavioral Health Services TITLE Medication Support Staff REPORTS TO Billing/Operations Manager STATUS Hourly / Non-Exempt POSITIONS SUMMARY The Medication Support Staff responsible for scheduling appointments for the doctor’s consultations and psychiatric evaluations. They will track medication authorizations and maintain accurate billing for the doctors. They will communicate regularly with clients, doctors, clinicians and foster family network. They must be able to work efficiently in our fast-paced team oriented environment where our clients come first. QUALIFICATIONS The Medical Support Staff must possess the following: • Medical Assistant Certification required. • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. • Front/Back office experience within a physicians office required. • 2-3 years Medi-Cal knowledge preferred. • 2 years working with the Department of Mental Health (DMH) billing system preferred. • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel required. • Excellent organizational and communication skills required. • Accurately type 35 words per minute and use a 10-key number pad required. • Data Entry experience required. • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail and take instruction well from others. DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES • The Medication Support Staff is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: • Maintain all doctors scheduling for clients & clinician consultation including Initial Psychiatric Evaluation requests. • Complete and monitor doctors billing in the internal billing system. • Input psychotropic prescriptions into the Department of Mental Health’s PATS system. • Fax and track special Treatment Authorization requests to the Director of Pharmacy services. • Track Psychotropic Medication Authorization; ensure that they are completed before they expire. This also includes updating the Medication Support Psychotropic Authorization Log. • Liaison with Foster Family Network clientele for Medication Support. • Maintain efficient and timely flow of all paperwork. • All other duties as assigned.
