Childhood cancer is merciless. It gives not a shiite about anyones plans. Even if this were a GREAT week for Kate (it happens not to be) she would STILL be affected by what her body is going through. Why? Well, because a large part of our family is in town from Nebraska. They havent seen Kate in over a year and they have traveled all this way to see her. But they cant. Why? Because Kate is susceptible to all kinds of illness, but way more than most kids because of her compromised immune system. We gave her five different chemos on Monday to suppress it even further. One of our beloved family members is ill...so we cant see ANYONE because we cant risk Kates health or even our own, as we could possibly pass something along to her.
