Children and Preachers Today my thoughts are different from the other things I have shared. Let me assure you I am not asking you for funds but I do want to share two ministries I have been involved with for many years. In India in the 80s there were many children living alone on the streets. Some were there because their parents were in jail. Dr. K. Chacko was asked by a woman in jail to care for her three children. He took them home with him and soon formed the precious children’s homes. When the tsunami struck over a hundred children were left without anyone to care for them. With help from Virginia Baptist and The Baptist World Word Alliance the India Children’s Village the most modern children’s home in Asia was built. Today in several locations Precious Children provide excellent care for over 800 children. Vinton Baptist Church in recent years has provided the school uniforms for these children. The children have sponsors from many countries. Please visit their Website.(presiouschildren.org) The India Baptist Theological Seminary is an accredited seminary offering a Master of Divinity Degree and training ministers from India and other Asian Countries. It accepts woman and men from many denominational backgrounds and has a well trained faculty led by Dr. Saji Kumar. I played a small part in the founding of the school and am humbly proud to have the library named for me. You have seen some of the students there as well as students who now minister in old Burma comment on my posts. It is very exciting to have 20 students from Burma studying there this year. They return and establish churches in their country. Dr. Bill Ross pastor of FBC Marietta, GA recently visited the churches of our former students. I encourage you to visit the Website and pray for the teachers and students.(indiabaptist.edu.in
