Children are finding Siempre Siempres first child of our 2nd - TopicsExpress

Children are finding Siempre Siempres first child of our 2nd generation moved in - 2 days after her 16th birthday. She came with just the clothes on her back. Raised by loving grandparents until her grandfather died and grandmother fell ill - she was returned to her mom - a woman working in Tijuanas most notorious neighborhood. She didn’t fit in her mother’s world. Mom had seen our flyers and called us. Sarahey - pronounced Sarah e - was welcomed with open arms. God is too good. Wednesday afternoon at our staff meeting Barbara Zepeda, an important part of our leadership, volunteering and donating generously, took a call - it was the lawyer saying they have 2 babies and 13 abandoned children needing refuge - can we help? The moment was amazing. As if God had opened the doors. More new children, possibly 15 kids, will be moving in between Monday and Wednesday of this coming week. Pastor Aldo told me there could be 3 additional children as well... We’re ready. Thank you. When it would have been easy to run from the work, you have stayed faithful. Your sacrifice, prayers and support have made this moment possible. Rescued children are finding home in the safety of Siempre Para Los Ninos again. We’re celebrating. Theyre not on the streets. Praise God. This is what we do and who we are. Watch the video. Listen to Sarahey nervously tell her story, hear the excitement in the voices of our staff - people who left behind the comfort they knew, brought their own children along, in order to help us keep the promise of Siempre - always - those who once were always afraid, hungry, desperate, lonely, cold and alone will now be always safe, fed, loved... Home. This week I get to help welcome an entire new group of children to Siempre. You can come with me. Miracles happen on Wednesdays at Siempre. Miracles! Cant believe I get to share them. Youre needed, now, more than ever. I’ll be posting a list of children’s sizes for clothes and shoes that we need. Money for school uniforms, books and tuition will be needed. Basics – hair ties and so many other personal issues. Food and cooking utensils – the big stuff – pots and pans that cook meals for 30 and 40 people. We need it all. I’m taking a load down this week. If you get it to me I’ll get it to them. We’re discovering that the refilling of the house could happen all before the holidays – possibly sooner. RileyHouse@Siempre needs all new beds. If you’ve thought of making a significant gift, now, before winter, would be the perfect time. Why should even one child be at risk in the cold when we have room for them? Youre Invited to share in this mighty restoration of all God has in store for Siempre Para Los Ninos. It’s been an incredible week. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
