Children of Farm Worker Scholarship: Applications for the 2015 Children of Farm Worker Scholarships are now being accepted at seamar.org/static_pages/farmworkersstudents.php. Online applications due April 1 Who Can Apply? Students who work or have worked as a farmworker in the United States, OR Students whose parent/legal guardian is or has worked as a farmworker in the United States. High school seniors and college students who show commitment to their education, demonstrate leadership. Since 1998, Sea Mar has helped hundreds of Washington state students by providing them with scholarships for their post-secondary education. Sea Mar acknowledges the barriers children of farm working families face on their way to reaching their goals of obtaining a college degree. Economic strain, as well as language and cultural barriers can often affect these students, and a large number need to work after school and during summers alongside their parents to contribute to their family. Sea Mar recognizes the hard work of farm working families and is proud to provide annual scholarships to help make college a reality.
