Children of the Cosmos (dedicated to all my FB friends; with love, respect and affection. i would also include those children from Bhopal, Vietnam, Iraq, Palestine and Africa who share this day and consciousness with me) * i may not have met you i may not have shaken your hand i may not have sat in the shade with you but you shared a very precious part of my life though there are spaces between us we have never been closer your proximity to me is not determined by location or physicality but rather by how close within me you reside when the cold winds blow i know you are here beside me inside of me in the sacred spaces that i keep for all the precious things that i love and hold dear sheltering me and sharing kind words and thoughts the universe smiles and walks past and we barely notice the conversation between our hearts is very intense and deep the words you speak silently lodge in my consciousness and will never be shaken free i am but a part of you and you of me i dont need to shake your hand or sit with you in the shade you are my shade and me yours i am you and you me and both just children of the Cosmos the words you give me are treasures that i will take with me on my journey to my eternity i will sit before time itself and say i knew you as i know you will say you knew me and we both knew the universe in all its grandeur in the gardens of our world we will grow and blossom and give shade to others that they may grow with us within us for we are they and they us and all but children of the Cosmos i will take but a moment to ponder and hymn a silent song of gratitude to those who are present those who have passed and those yet to come thank you friend the universe has touched you you are indeed a child of the Cosmos ____________________________________________ rassool jibraeel snyman (c) 2014 The Poetic Assassin
