China Coal Imports Down 6.7 Percent China saw its coal imports declining by 6.7% year on year to 222.85 million tons in the first nine months of this year, according to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs. According to the statistics, the import value of coal decreased 19.9% year on year to US$ 17.33 billion in the nine-month period. Meanwhile, China saw its coal exports amount to 4.37 million tons in the first nine months, 26.1% less than in the same period of 2013. The export value of coal totaled US$ 540.95 million, down 36% year on year. Last month, Chinas coal imports reached 21.16 million tons with import value of US$ 1.52 billion, while its coal exports hit 0.44 million tons with export value of US$ 49.72 million.
