China Moves to Safeguard State Sovereignty in Hong Kong Hong - TopicsExpress

China Moves to Safeguard State Sovereignty in Hong Kong Hong Kongs pro-democracy advocates who have expropriated the Occupy brand for their Occupy Central protests should be more appropriately called the Hong Kong pro-American or pro-British lobby. These neo-liberals are either naive dupes of Anglo-American imperialism or willing anti-China provocateurs who are more interested in furthering the Anglo-US agenda of destabilizing China than promoting Chinese unity and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Western media coverage of the situation is totally disingenuous. They promote the idea that HK should have no restrictions on who can run for political office, as if the US or UK would not avail themselves of the opportunity to support candidates intent on disrupting the relationship between HK and the national government in Beijing. No government would allow for that possibility. China rightfully insists that candidates who want to split HK from China or alter Chinas sovereign rights in HK be restricted from the ballot. The US is using the abstract ideals of democracy to attract idealistic youth to the anti-China banner of independence from the mainland and subservience to Western cultural, political and economic hegemony in order to undermine Chinese sovereignty and derail Chinas historic rise. The steadfast Chinese leadership with President Xi Jinping in charge however will have nothing to do with it and is taking a proactive stance against Western attempts to destabilize and eventually dismember China as happened in the Soviet Union. bbc/news/world-asia-28994123
