#China invests in #Laos It appears that China met with Laos for discussions to build a high speed train system through Laos and ending in Singapore. Completion date of 2019 scheduled and will include massive upgrades to Laos infrastructure (running water, electricity); however will also destroy villages to reach its destination. Of course this is all good for china; rail is an inexpensive way if transporting large quantities of goods, as well as increasing the amount of raw materials to be transported from the Southeast Asian countries into China.
