China’s Top 5 business elites under 40 Alibaba founder Jack Ma has been known as China’s ‘Richie Rich’since being named one of Fortune’s “25 Most Powerful Business People in Asia” by the time he was 40. But Ma is just one of a new group of powerful young business elites emerging from China, and according to a new list by Fortune magazine they all stem from the same area: online innovation. Fortune’s latest list has named China’s top ten business elites under 40: Here’s the top five: No.1 Liu Qiangdong: Age 39 Liu Qiangdong is the founder and CEO of JD Inc, formerly 360Buy, a Chinese electronic commerce company headquartered in Beijing. The second-largest e-commerce platform in China, it completed its IPO on Nasdaq this year No.2 Wang Xiaochuan, Age 36 He is the CEO of Sogou Inc, a subsidiary of Chinese portal Sohu Inc., which operates a search engine, Chinese pinyin input methods, and other mobile and internet apps. No.3 Yao Jinbo, Age 37 Yao is the chairman and chief executive officer of 58, an online marketplace serving local merchants and consumers in around 380 cities. The company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange last year. No.4 Yang Yifu, Li Xinhe and Zhang Shishi, Aged 29-30 The three are the co-founders of RenRenYouXin Group Co Ltd, and all aged between 29 to 30. The company provides financial services via the Internet, including peer-to-peer (P2P) lending. In January of this year, the group raised $130 million from a group of investors led by TBP Capital, marking the single largest investment within the P2P lending industry. No.5 Fu Sheng, Age 36 Fu Sheng is the CEO of Cheetah Mobile Inc., a leading mobile Internet company with more than 340 million monthly active users as of February 2014. It is best known as the creator of the Battery Doctor, Clean Master and Duba Anti-virus, with its headquarters in Beijing.
