Chinese Ambassador Supports Plan To Convert Nigerian Foreign Reserves From Dollars To Yuan China has donated kits and equipment worth about 106 U.S. dollars as part of its contributions to the international campaign to control the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Gu Xiaojie, said this while fielding questions at the Forum of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday. He said although Nigeria had been declared free of the virus by the relevant authorities the country’s experience in the containment of the disease remained critical to the ongoing global campaign. “The Chinese government is providing some equipment to Nigeria worth 106 million U.S. dollars. “These equipment include ambulances, scanners, and personnel protective gears and sanitisers; some of the materials and equipment are arriving soon. “We are cooperating with the Federal Ministry of Health and also we are working with the National Planning Commission to see how we can hand over this project. “Although Nigeria is Ebola free and you are very active, you are supporting other African countries.
