( Chinese Governments Special Representative for African Affairs Liu Guijin visited South Sudan). From December 7 to 8, 2011, Chinese Governments Special Representative for African Affairs Liu Guijin visited South Sudan and met respectively with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nhial Deng Nhial and Minister of Petroleum and Mining Stephen Dhieu Dau of South Sudan. The two sides exchanged opinions on the latest situation between Sudan and South Sudan. Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan Li Zhiguo attended the meetings. Liu said that South Sudan is a new country and it serves the interest of all sides involved for South Sudan to coexist in peace and harmony and develop good-neighborly cooperative relations with Sudan. China admires South Sudans choice of peace and hopes Sudan and South Sudan keep restraint and resolve the pending issues through dialogue and negotiations. China will continue to work with Sudan and South Sudan and other related parties in its own way and push Sudan and South Sudan to solve differences in an early date and achieve peaceful coexistence and win-win results. The South Sudanese side welcomed and thanked Liu for his visit and noted that South Sudan is committed to solving the pending issues with Sudan and will not become the party making the situation deteriorated.
