Chinese National Day celebrated in Bangladesh DHAKA, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of Bangladesh celebrities including ministers and foreign dignitaries attended a ceremony in Bangladeshs capital Dhaka Thursday to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. The ceremony followed by a discussion session was organized by Bangladesh Shammobadi Dal, an ally of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina s Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. The participants extended warmest felicitations to the Chinese government and people of China. They wished Chinas continuous development, stability and prosperity and long lasting friendship between China and Bangladesh. In his welcome speech, Bangladesh Shammobadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua said I sincerely believe that through this discussion and excellent gathering, the long-established bond of friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and China and party-to-party will gain further peace in the future, said Barua, who is a former Industries minister. Speaking as the chief guest, Bangladeshi Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury hailed the achievements of the Chinese people over the last 65 years, particularly during their 35 years of reform.
