Chinese handset giant ZTE on Friday made its debut in Indian handset market in a big way launching six new Android smartphones priced between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 15,000. If one goes by the company’s announcement on Friday, it would be betting on premium range of smartphones in India for its elite customer segment. “Many of the upcoming launches will be inspired by company’s rich global smartphone portfolio which ranges from affordable through high-end smartphones" It said. Recently ZTE has aggressively focused on the smartphone market and the ZTE Grand series. The costliest of phones launched in India included the ZTE Grand X which has a price tag of Rs 14,999. The device with 5 inch HD display is powered by by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor. It comes with 512 MB RAM, 1 GB DDR SDRAM and 4 GB of internal memory. It can be upgraded to 32 GB of memory with the use of memory cards. The 5 inch display of Grand X has a resolution of 5 + 0.3 Mega pixels dual Camera. The company has launched five other smartphones ZTE Blade G2 priced at Rs. 11,599, ZTE Blade C (Dual SIM – 3G) priced at Rs. 7,599, ZTE Blade L priced at Rs. 12599, ZTE Kis Flex (Dual SIM) priced at Rs. 5,799 and ZTE Blade E priced at Rs. 11,999. All of them run on Google’s Android operating system and come with 512MB internal storage, and varying screen size, processor speeds, camera and other features to meet the unique needs of a broad customer base. The company said that it will expand its handset portfolio in the months to come and by the year end, it aims to have its pan India presence with the smartphones and data cards.” Xu Dejun, CEO, ZTE India said, “ZTE is the leading global OEM supplier and has emerged as the trusted partner of choice for the Indian operators. ZTE also launched Swift series of 3G datacards launched which come in four variants comprising of Swift (7.2Mbps with Voice Call) priced at Rs. 1799, Swift Plus (14.4Mbps) priced at Rs. 1999, Swift WPlus (14.4Mbps with Wifi) priced at Rs. 2250 and Swift Speed (21.6Mbps with Voice Call) priced at Rs. 2499. The company has a network of 214 service centers across the country. The company has signed a strategic partnership with Pune based Calyx Telecommunications for a sustained pan India presence with the new Smartphone portfolio and with Digilife for Data Cards.
