Chinook Park School thanks the community for their help during the Broken Christmas Light Campaign. While we had the lights in the school, students stretched them around the school, measured the length, drew patterns and learned how to organize a campaign for the Chinook Park Sustainability Projects first initiative. We diverted 150 lbs of lights from the landfill to be recovered and reused. The funds received from selling the strings of lights are the start of our fourth sector social enterprise. They will go towards our sustainability initiatives in the school, and an environmental organization, decided upon by the students. So, save your broken lights for next year. Some students think that we can double the amount next year!!
