Chipley – Drivers traveling State Road (S.R.) 71 in Marianna will encounter temporary delays beginning Monday, August 12 as construction crews begin resurfacing the corridor between Malloy Plaza Road and the Calhoun County line. Work is scheduled to be completed summer 2014. The $8.5 million project includes concrete reconstruction work from the TA Truck Stop to the Pilot Truck Stop. Lane closures and detours will occur during construction. A public meeting will be held in winter 2013 to provide information regarding the impact of detours to the traveling public. Construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists, pedestrian and bicyclists are reminded to travel with care through the work zone and to watch for construction equipment and workers entering and exiting the roadway.
