Chisan Association of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism Turns Over Cash Donation for Victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Leyte Meron pa rin nagbibigay ng donation para sa mga victims ng Yolanda super typhoon. 18 August 2014, Tokyo – Mr. Gilberto G.B. Asuque, Charge d’ Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission, Philippine Embassy receives from Chief Priest Houken Hosoda the cash donation of Yen1,200,000.00 (app. US$12,000) from the Chisan Association of Praying for Peace for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Leyte. The Chisan Association belongs to the Chisan School of the Shingon sect of Buddhism. The Association participates in the memorial services for Japanese who died during WWII at the Chishakuin Temple of the Chisan School. It also conducts memorial pilgrimages to overseas battle sites to pray for war victims and for world peace. The Chisan Association has visited Leyte three times in the past, the latest in November 2012, and donated supplies and other goods to public schools in the province.
