Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream by Dont Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead: that was a nice walk. they didnt have my fav ice cream bar but i got one that made for a better pic and took it outside The St John Inn. i also have a cute story about the exchange i had with the beautiful girl behind the counter at Congress Street Variety & Cafe. kind of shows the difference between my silly, boyish (girlish) flirting and the kind where guys really hit on girls. basically me being charming by making fun of myself in a clever way. i hope i can afford buy an independent Jon Jost product someday. i already know how to do it electronically without a credit card. i was actually planning to do it when my full time job became defending myself from the toxic family i was born into and the mostly (not all) toxic friends i attracted as a result. if Brendan Evens hates stealing so much why did he sell tons of VHS copies of pirated videos with covers that were copied at places like Fedex. thats another thing i thought of on my walk down St John Street before safely arriving back at my dark queens art studio/nursery school. now im watching the very fun (if super dark) Jonas Akerland film Spun starring BUST cover boy and heartthrob Jason Schwartzman. and people should really give Sofia Coppolas Somewhere another chance. US critics were not kind to it. Tarantino may have been biased when he gave it an award. but so would any man who found her attractive if you really think about it. its a great movie. and Stephen Dorff is absolutely wonderful in it. i never got to hear the new Phoenix (Bankrupt). the one review i read was not good. but im sure its good. im the one who introduced all my friends to that band when their first album came out before they refined their style. that first album is perfect. its just weird and all over the place. i think my friend Kaylene Waindle would vouch for me on that. i also decided that i need to contact Shenna Bellows office next week and tell them id love to participate in campaigning for her in any way possible and i cant wait to talk about her with my bequtiful HVJ team leader. i hope my dad doesnt get mad when i tell him for reasons he cant explain since hes a registered Democrat and a big Obama fan. though he was a HUGE Edwards fan before Obama got the nomination and i ALWAYS had a bad GUT feeling about that pretty boy. i may be pretty. but im a skinny gay goth girl in a jailbait boyscouts body and am no longer going to be played for a fool. trust is earned. not given. thats what i had to learn in the school of hard knocks. its not how i was raised. and i can say that because i got into NYUs VERY exclusive Film Theory program for my extended piece on Atom Egoyan when almost every other student at the welcome breakfast had been writing about Speilberg (who i like...im not dissing him though i hate many of his endings...Saving Private Ryan in particular). i read a Poppy Z Bright book on the way down. and when i was there i saw The Young Poisoners Handbook, Loaded (drastically recut by the Weinsteins for the US release) and Cold Fever all on the same day. i had wanted to see Frisk. but i think it closed the week before. Dennis Cooper has always been one of my favorite writers. the movie is far from great and i dont think DC likes it. the parts with Craig Chester as George Miles are amazing though. mostly because of his performance. but it does have some great sequences scored to cool industrial music like Coil and a dark, grimy look with lots of atmosphere. Todd Verow (Bangor Films) is not a good director imho. i bought a few of his SOV follow-ups and they are mostly random, campy, in your face works of narcisstic navel gazing with bad acting and terrible writing. id give some of his films another chance though. theyre probably fun to watch stoned. and maybe he helped pave the way for video films like Harmony Korines masterpiece Spring Breakers (which i dont think Jost likes...he has a right to his opinion) and Monte Hellmans The Road to Nowhere.
