Choir leader wanted in Stamford, South Lincolnshire. Woven Chords is a mixed voice a capella world music community choir of 19 years standing. It needs to find a new Musical Director. wovenchords Woven Chords currently has over 70 attending members. It has been run on NVPN (naturalvoice.net) lines - no auditions, no music scores, if you can speak you can sing - with the emphasis on having fun through singing. The choir has built up quite a substantial local following over the years for its energetic and enthusiastic end of term concerts. It has also performed further afield when opportunities have presented themselves. The choir has a repertoire of over 200 world music songs built up over time by its three musical directors, originally Sally Brown, followed by Chris Rowbury and currently Liz Underhill. Choir members range in age from 20s to 70s and form an incredibly friendly, supportive group who love singing together. Woven Chords is funded by South Lincolnshire District Council and sessions take place on Thursdays, 7.30 to 9.30pm, at Stamford Arts Centre during school term times. Remuneration is paid through the Arts Centre and is at a very competitive rate. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to take over a large, lively, energetic, full-voiced, group of very lovely people. The opportunity arises due to Liz’s wish to retire during the current academic year. For further information please contact Liz 01476 550972 or email: [email protected]
