Chook had 5 babies last night. I am relieved to say that Mummy and kittens are all doing well. Considering how young she is and that this is her first litter she is an excellent mummy. Cheeky Chook had her kittens right in the middle of her fosterers bed, so they had to sleep on the floor with sleeping bags last night, now that is dedication, so thank you Lucy and family. A massive thank you to everyone who bought items from our Amazon Wish List yesterday for Chook and her babies (will thank you individually once boxes arrive!). Thank you to Zoe Jane Lancaster, Sue Lewis, Janet Swift, Helen Jopson, Donna Steadman and Clare Mann for your PayPal donations. In total we received £55, so this morning I have spaced an order on Zooplus for £30.76 for lots and lots of yummy, high protein low carb food, to help Chook make lots of milk for her babies. When you consider that she has 5 mouths to feed, plus herself, you can appreciate that she is going to need several sachets of food a day! I also placed an order on Amazon for £18.03 for 2 x kitten litter trays and 3 x 10L bags of cat litter, as in 4-6 weeks Chook will show her babies how to use the litter tray all by themselves. The left over money will go towards some Pancur paste in a few weeks time to worm them all. Here are some photos of Mummy Chook and her babies. As you can see they are all gorgeous!
